Traditionally a headhunting tribe, the Dayak of Borneo would carve ritualistic symbols and totems into skulls to represent aspects of their ideology and ward off evil spirits. 
Cast in Sterling silver, this monkey skull has an intricately carved Dayak motif, with an oxidized finish and contrasting polished details around the eyes and fangs.
